PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE USING THIS BLOG.

ALL the lotteries, draws, compensation schemes, inheritances, payment agent or mystery shopper jobs and business proposals offering huge sums of money are SCAMS. You CAN'T WIN a lottery or prize draw you HAVEN'T ENTERED. Please don't post comments asking if the SCAMS you have received are real. PLEASE DON'T LEAVE YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS IN A COMMENT ASKING SCAMMERS TO CONTACT YOU (yes, people really do this regularly!)

ULSTER BANK LOANS

Mr James writes to tell me he is reputable, legitimate and accredited.  Why does he feel the need to tell me that?  Because it’s not true!  He’s keen to offer me/you a “loan”.  What he really wants you to do is fill in his form so he can charge you lots of fat fees.  Will you ever see a penny of his loan?  Of couse you won’t.  But he’ll be happy to relieve you [Continue reading ULSTER BANK LOANS]

Reminder:Validate Your Account Access With Co-operative Bank

This scammer tells me firmly that a problem has occurred with my internet banking. It would do, I don’t have an account with the Co-operative Bank. Not to worry – the scammer tells me the reason I’ve been logged out of my account is because I had the temerity to use the back or forward buttons on my browser. What a wicked thing to do. I’m told these have been disabled to make it [Continue reading Reminder:Validate Your Account Access With Co-operative Bank]

URGENT RESPOND

Mr Karimu Amadu writes from India to tell me he is the “Exchange Manager” for the Bank of Africa.  Unlikely?  In the make believe world of scammers anything is possible.  He can apparently get his hands on $22.5m and he will give me 40%.  Does that also sound unlikely?  Yes – you’re right.  It is unlikely.  Mr Karimu doesn’t want to send you money – what he really wants is to get his hands [Continue reading URGENT RESPOND]

Current news affecting our Business Banking

This scammer tells me to be alert for phishing emails.  It tells me that I should “not provide any of your personal information and banking details”.  Ok – and if I click on the link in the scammer’s email, what do you suppose I’m asked for?  Yup – you got it in one – my personal details.

NEVER click on any of the links in an email from a bank, even if it appears [Continue reading Current news affecting our Business Banking]

Union Bank Compensation Unit

The Union Bank has decided to compensate anyone who has been scammed to the tune of $500k.  They’ve been meeting for 7 months to decide this.  They must be suffering from sleep deprivation.  Give the poor things a few days solid sleep before replying.  Better still, don’t reply at all.  It’s all a load of old codswallop.  There is no compensation and there’s no such person as Dr Davidson Moor.  Just a scammer, wanting [Continue reading Union Bank Compensation Unit]

Post your resume!!

The Tokyu Corporation are so desperate to emply little old me that they are sending out random emails worldwide.  Sound odd?  Of course it does?  What do they want you to do?  Just spend a little time browsing online?  Sound too good to be true?  You know the old saying – if it sounds too good to be true, then it is.  These fake job offers are often a front for money laundering.  If [Continue reading Post your resume!!]

Statement Information

A variation on a theme here.  No failure of the bank software, no warning about illegal attempts to access my account, no – just a statement.  Note the complete absence of information – opening balance = ****, closing balance = ****.  Just visit the scammer’s fake site, input your personal information and hey presto – the scammers can find out your real balance and then help themselves to it!  If I do click on [Continue reading Statement Information]

You've received A Hallmark E-Card!

If you’ve been following this blog, you might have read the entry titled “A postcard from Hallmark”.  This contains a hoax virus warning – warning about a dreadful virus that will do horrible things.  That email is a hoax.

Today though, I’ve received a “real” piece of malware in an email title “you’ve received a hallmark e-card”.  How do I know this – because my antivirus software warned me of an infected attachment. (Compare [Continue reading You've received A Hallmark E-Card!]

Mcdonalds wishes you Merry Christmas!

This email comes with an attachment.  It isn’t a McDonald’s discount voucher – it’s malware.  I don’t know which piece of malware, because I didn’t open the attachment.  I know it’s malware because my antivirus software leapt into action and warned me of an infected attachment.

If McDonalds are really offering discounts, I’m sure you’ll find them on their website.  They won’t send out random emails.

Just delete this email and [Continue reading Mcdonalds wishes you Merry Christmas!]

National Westminster Bank has been receiving complaints from our customers

Now it’s the NatWest who are receiving complaints – about unauthorised use of accounts.  All you have to do is click on the link, go to the scammers’ website, fill in your details and they too can make unauthorised use of your account.

NEVER click on the link in an email from a bank – even if it claims to come from your own bank.  If you are in any doubt, phone your bank to check if [Continue reading National Westminster Bank has been receiving complaints from our customers]
