PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE USING THIS BLOG.
ALL the lotteries, draws, compensation schemes, inheritances, payment agent or mystery shopper jobs and business proposals offering huge sums of money are SCAMS. You CAN'T WIN a lottery or prize draw you HAVEN'T ENTERED.
Please don't post comments asking if the SCAMS you have received are real.
PLEASE DON'T LEAVE YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS IN A COMMENT ASKING SCAMMERS TO CONTACT YOU (yes, people really do this regularly!)
A friend forwarded me this little gem. You do have to wonder if anyone really would believe that someone they have never heard of would send them $900k. I hope no-one believes it – it’s a scam. Just delete the email and don’t reply.

This scammer can’t decide whether I’ve won 552 dollars or 552 thousand dollars. It doesn’t matter – it’s all a scam. There was no draw. Freelotto does exist – it’s a reputable site that you have to join to play. This email is just a scam – the scammer wants to take money from you by charging you fees. Delete the email and don’t reply

Zhang Ye writes to tell me he is called Dorferson Robert. Does that sound likely? Then he tells me the old, old story. He’s dying, he’s rich he’s …….. He isn’t any of things he claims. He’s a scammer, hoping to get his hands on your cash by charging you advance fees. Delete his email and don’t reply.

A reader forwarded me this scam. I don’t know if the reader had an item for sale on the internet – they didn’t say. This is an obvious scam, regardless of whether or not there was a real item for sale. All the warning signs are there. The scammer will send you a check for more than the goods are worth. Cash it, take out your expenses and then send the scammer the balance [Continue reading wood stove w/blower – $250 (greentown)]

Oh look – another advance fee fraud. How do I know? Easy. It’s a fraud (you aren’t really expecting $800k from a Mrs Vera Blair, are you?) and it asks for a fee.
I suspect that the original version of this fraud (it’s one of the most common ones) was intended for scammers to “fill in the blanks” for example “I have been waiting for you since to contact me”. I guess this [Continue reading Greetings]
Only one “compliment” of the season??? How mean.
Mr Phil James isn’t a money lender – he’s a money taker. He doesn’t want to lend you money, he wants to take money from you by charging you fees – your loan will never appear. If you don’t believe me, check out some of the victims stories above.
Just delete the email and don’t reply.

This is a fake PayPal receipt, but it could easily be mistaken for a real one. How do I know it’s a fake? a) It doesn’t include my registered PayPal username
b) I didn’t buy the goods listed on the receipt

This is part of the growing trend by scammers to send their long winded, sob stories as an attachment and put very little text in the body of the email. Presumably because email and internet companies have been refusing to deliver their spam and scams.
I opened the attachment to this one so you don’t have to and I’ve reproduced it below. It’s all a scam of course. This didn’t come from the wife [Continue reading REPLY URGENTLY]
This email was sent to “undisclosed recipients”. In other words it was sent to lots of people. Do you suppose we’ve all won £500k? No, you don’t really, do you. This is just a scam. The scammer wants to get rich by charging you fees for your non existent win.
Delete the email and don’t reply.
