PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE USING THIS BLOG.

ALL the lotteries, draws, compensation schemes, inheritances, payment agent or mystery shopper jobs and business proposals offering huge sums of money are SCAMS. You CAN'T WIN a lottery or prize draw you HAVEN'T ENTERED. Please don't post comments asking if the SCAMS you have received are real. PLEASE DON'T LEAVE YOUR PERSONAL DETAILS IN A COMMENT ASKING SCAMMERS TO CONTACT YOU (yes, people really do this regularly!)

VERIFICATION OF CLAIM

A reader forwarded me this scam. The UK National Lottery don’t hold random email draws.  The only way to enter the National Lottery is to buy a ticket.  If you win, they don’t contact you (they don’t know who you are), you need to contact them.  Why, I wonder, does this scammer think the FBI (An American organisation) would need to investigate claims – we do have a Police force of our own!

This is a scammer, hoping to steal you money by charging you fees.  Ignore them.  You can find the real National Lottery here.

I have recieved many e-mails from this FBI agent I told him I thought it was a scam and he then e-maild me an ID and passport photo with his name and who knows whos picture on them he had me going for it until I started checking it all out. I got my last e-mail from him just two days ago so he is still out there using the same scam. Cant we stop him some how. can’t he be tracked down??

  • Larry

He’s still out there, I got the same exact details in an MS Word attachment this morning. The giveaway is in the email addresses:
    From: “davidmrenner@thefbi.co.uk”
    To: admin@national-lottery.co.uk
If you type “http://thefbi.co.uk/” in the address bar you get a pitch for a free email address, same as Yahoo or Google. The address “http://www.national-lottery.co.uk” gives a warning that this is a known attack site. Con-men. So transparent.

  • Montaque McFadden

I receive a lot of emails from Jaime Sun and F.B.I. agent Steele Douglas and they want me to send $200 in order to receive a check for about $3,000,000 since I can’t make it to Germany. I feel it is a total scam! It would be a shame if it isn’t!

  • uniqua

Montaque: i’ve been receiving exectly the same emails from FBI Agent Steele Douglas since fri – 3 days ago, also asking me to go to germany, so i’ve left work ealier today to book ticket from uk to berlin ;0) but then i’ve received another email that i don’t have to go to germany if i can pay to jamie sun $200 by western union o moneygram. so then i’ve realised i’m such an idiot, lucky i didn’t book flights. they’ve got my details and address, i’m a bit worried now.

  • Carolyn West

I was so excited this morning and I receive information from FBI agent Steel Douglas also, first from Jamie Sun, I am so glad that I looked this up first, to see their names is amazing, building peoples hopes up like this is a horrible thing.God knows one day they get what they deserve.

  • Lisa

I have been getting the same e-mails from jamie sun and “FBI agent Steele”!! Telling me to come to germany or send $200 to receive documents and payments. Im thinking about going to the police station with the passport pic they sent me and fake FBI identification. I cannot believe people do this to others about such a large sum of money. what do we do?

  • durgul

douglas steelees FBI agent named in the same way e-mail sent to me, asked for $ 200 offered through jamie … All cheats

Yes, I received the same e-mail from the so called FBI Agent. Douglas Steele and Jamie Sun is working with him and they ask me for $200 as well. I feel worried now after reading all of the letters above, and yes, I gave him my details, Oh How Stupid I Feel, My Mom always told me, If it sounds to good to be True, It is a Scam. I do not know why I believed him, I Guess it is because he sent me his American Passport and his FBI I.D., but after looking at the picture again, It does look fake. I know now that you can not win by your e-mail, You have to buy a ticket for sure.

  • Angela Zimmerman

I received an email pretty much the same as this. First they wanted to me to come to Switzerland to receive the money and I told them I could not. Then, they wanted $200 through moneygram only and I said I don’t have it. Now I have a diplomat bringing me my money personally from England. I’m a little nervous about this please provide me some feedback on this. I looked up my lottery ticket number on the website they sent to me and it checks out to be real but I’m still unsure if it is somehow a scam or not. This is the first one I actually received a phone call from and is actually bringing me the money. PLEASE HELP I’M CONFUSED!

  • rosetrees

@ Angela – just ignore any further emails or phone calls. The scammer is unlikely to turn up – he’ll just keep asking you for more money

  • Alexander (Belarus)

  • Nichole

Hello everyone. I have been recieving e-mails from Jamie Sun & Agent Steele for the past few weeks, but since I’ve recently been scammed via postal mail… I’m very leery of anything that sounds to good to be true. If these two actually got money from you before you found out.. I am truley sorry! I know what it feels like. Jerks like that should be burried alive! Best Wishes & Luck to you all!

  • Jewel

This is sad. What can we do to stop people from preying on other people? I’m reporting it as scam.

  • Tamara

I’ve recently been informed by Mr. Steele that I’m a 3 million dollar lottery winner and just need to send a couple of hundred dollars for processing fee. I replied and told him to just deduct the fee out of my winnings and send me the check. Fat chance!!

  • John

Mr Steele still up to his tricks. Wants me to go to Switzerland to collect over two million pounds sterling. No way!

Original letter came from a Miss Jamie Sun – Overseas Claim Unit. They seem to have a close relationship !

  • Tessie

In the same manner, I receive the email from Mr. Steel Douglas, no wonder his name steel is just exactly for this scumming.

I have received the same letter via Mr Douglas Steele, and the infamous Pat Young. It’s complete bs that nothing is done to shut this scam down. I also received passports, FBI badge, and Ms Youngs lottery identification. They even went as far as Ms. Young providing her electric bill?? Maybe a new extra added believable factor?? But I am no fool, and thankfully there is just as much info on Internet against these scum bags. The fact is I really don’t think the government gives a crap and that if we are so gullible to believe this that it is indeed are own fault. I will admit due to the fact I am caring for a sick elderly parent I actually believed it for a second myself…then this little thing called “common sense” crept in!! It’s sad that we live in a world where such terrible atrocities take place and people actually become rich off of scamming people…oh wait I live in America it happens every day!! May which ever god they choose to worship have mercy on their souls. We are truly in daunting times and it’s up to all of us to stand up against these parasites that prey on the weak and hopeless. I’ll make my own money by busting my ass the only way anything made is worthwhile. Good luck to everyone!!

my friend recieved a claim verification saying that he won a lottery, from london uk. my friend gave me his permission to respond to that msgs. at first it looks so real, but the scammer has sent one instruction that makes it unrealistic. i live in united states for 20years, i am now living here in the philippines to study nursing. i am a member of jeannie’s kid inc. a nonprofit organization that helps kids with cancer. i came to the philippines and realize how unfortunate the kids here, no hospitals, kids needs to walk 5 km. just to get to school. i decided to start to do fundraising so i can feed malnourished children. i manage to buy a property that is very good place to construct a hospital for this unfortunate one, but untill now i dont have any money to even start the building. maybe i can finish my project once i finished my course and start working in united state as a nurse so i can have money to start a small operating center for the people in remote areas specially the natives (aetas). this is the reason why i entertain that claim verification message because i thought i can use the money for my project. i am not rich but i am determine to help whatever i can for this people. i was so sorry when those money that i am hoping to get and can help us build the building, end up a scam. i am now asking a lot of people to donate anything for this unfortunate people. if you know someone who can help me with this project i will surely appreciate it. i am only a student but i know i can make a difference with the lives of this people. this the my first action of asking for donation, even prayers will do. if money is not available.
