HSBC Online Banking Alert on your Check Card

I hope you know that you should NEVER click on a link in a bank email – even if it appears to come from your bank.  Your bank will NEVER ask you to verify your details online.    If you think there might be suspicious activity on your account – check online if you have internet banking (enter the address of your bank website DIRECTLY in your browser, don’t click on a link) – or go into your branch and ask them to check the activity on your account.

This email is from a scammer – who is hoping you will give them your credit card details.

We detected irregular activity on your HSBC Check Card on 18 December, 2009.

As the Primary Contact, you must verify your account activity before you can continue using

your card, and upon verification, we will remove any restrictions placed on your account.
