Registration confirmation letter-No.2011112421
This is the same scam that is mentioned in this post http://keepsafeonthenet.co.uk/2010/12/asian-domain-registration-service-in-china/
A legitimate domain registrar never checks to see who holds other versions of a domain name. It’s none of their business.
No-one has applied to register a domain using your “Network Brand”. This is just a scam company who are hoping you will panic and ask to buy the domains yourself – at which point they will ask you for an inflated price. So that you can see how the scam works, I replied and said that I hadn’t authorised the purchase of the domain names.
After a couple of emails, this is the reply I received, including prices:
Following is the price list, only for your reference:
Domain name:
mydomainname.asia 40GBP/Per Year/Per Name
mydomainname.cn 20GBP/Per Year/Per Name
mydomainname.com.cn 20GBP/Per Year/Per Name
mydomainname.hk 40GBP/Per Year/Per Name
mydomainname.tw 40GBP/Per Year/Per Name
mydomainname.in 50GBP/Per Year/Per Name
Network brand:
mydomainname 120GBP/Per Year/Per Name

Have a nice day!
A little research tells me that it costs around $13 (approx £10) to register a .asia domain, not the £40 quoted. I hope you can see how the scam works now.
(It’s very urgent, Please transfer this email to your CEO or appropriate person, Thanks)
