It’s been a while since I’ve heard from “Frank James” (or yet another scammer using that name). He tells me that he has an assignment “in your area” but as he has no idea who I am he clearly has no idea what my “area” is.

Variants of this scam are using legitimate mystery shopper company names. The scammer is hoping this will make the scam real. I think this is turning out to be a money-gram scam because the response emails make reference to evaluating money transfer companies. Here is a recent variant where a valid Mystery Shopping company’s name is used, but it didn’t come from them:

Thanks for putting these up. I have done this before and they NEVER pay $200! They all have different names as to who sends it, so don’t try to look for the company and waste your time!! Also, they always put the (R) on it.I agree with everything posted above.

I was pretty sure it was a scam, but then was a bit drawn to it. I just received and is signed by a different person, and lists the current Mystery Shopper would pay $200. ;o)
